I’ve been through the process of getting my finances in order and found that using a budget app made a huge difference. I personally recommend You Need a Budget because it helps you be proactive about your money, teaching you to allocate every dollar. It’s user-friendly and really effective in managing monthly expenses. Another great option is Mint—it’s super easy to use and provides a comprehensive view of your spending, budgeting, and financial goals. Both apps have helped me and many others streamline our finances and stay on track.

For those who wish to take their budgeting and money seriously, You Need a Budget is a great resource. YNAB uses a special kind of budgeting called “zero-based budgeting,” which requires you to allocate a task to each dollar of revenue before the month even starts. This can be an excellent method to ensure that your money is going where you want it to go and to regain control over your spending.

I use YNAB, and I find it to be effective. You can also split your spending by year, month, or other criteria. It breaks down your monthly budget. Although I haven’t checked carefully, I’d be surprised if they didn’t provide a weekly breakdown! It’s the only software that works for me, and I’ve been using it for a few years now, but I know people can either love or hate it!
