Personal Budgeting Software with Receipt Scanning Capability

My wife and I need to set up a budget now that we’ve purchased a home and are planning to have kids in 2025. I’m looking for software that can:

  1. Scan receipts and extract at least the sales tax amount (needed for SALT purposes). If that’s not possible, I’d like it to import expenses from QIF files.
  2. Perform expense reconciliation.
  3. Allow co-budgeting or let my wife upload receipts.

I’m open to non-free software options. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

I scan receipts using my iPad’s document scanning feature, generating .pdf files. Automatic amount extraction can be unreliable, so I often have to manually override the amounts. Just curious, where are QIF files used in your workflow?

For the QIF files: Epson’s RapidReceipts line comes with software that allows data to be exported to QIF. I’m checking if other options do as well.

I just posted my application in this subreddit. I can definitely try to help!
