Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience as an undergrad who has taken classes in Accounting and Computer Business Applications. With my experience in both, I’ve curated a spreadsheet that automizes many things like payments, receivables, net profit calculations, account distribution, and much more. It’s been a game changer for me. I’ve also created other sheets that compile information throughout the year into an annual evaluation sheet. Another one calculates savings account earnings over time, what interest rate is needed, or how much to deposit to reach a specific amount. This has helped me a ton in the past year, and I believe everyone should learn how to use tools like Google Sheets and Excel for better financial planning. It’s become such a big hobby of mine, and I’m new to budgeting so it’s been a fun learning experience. Thanks for reading.

Sure, here’s a sort of example. It only contains a one-month example, so no annual evaluation, but other pages are included

Yes, we’d love to check it out and give feedback
This sounds really cool. I’ve been trying to get better at budgeting too

It’s super helpful. I’m still learning but these tools make things easier

What do you mean by automizes?
@Tatum
Oh, I mean it does a lot of calculations for me automatically, like tracking payments and profits, so I don’t have to do it manually
I need to learn how to use those sheets. Sounds useful for planning

Definitely, it takes time to get used to, but once you do, it’s worth it

How did you start learning? Any tips?
@VAYOH
I just played around with the functions and watched a few tutorial videos. It really helped me understand the basics
I’ve been looking for something like this. How do you track everything?

I set up different sheets for different purposes, like expenses, income, and savings. It keeps everything organized
@Ira
That sounds really organized. I usually just jot things down in a notebook

Not a bad method, but using sheets makes it easier to calculate totals and keep track over time
I’ve tried budgeting apps but they never seem to work for me

I understand that. I find having a customizable spreadsheet gives me more control

Do you think using a sheet is better than an app?
@Charlie
For me, yes. I can tailor it exactly to my needs, but it really depends on personal preference
