I’m considering switching because I’m trying to save money. Paying $150 (Canadian) annually for an app meant to help me save money doesn’t make sense to me.

Hey, I can encourage you to try Personal Capital, a free personal finance app, contains budgeting and expenditure tracking capabilities in addition to its investment and wealth management focus. It automatically connects to my accounts, providing me with a comprehensive view of my spending and investment performance. While not as powerful as YNAB, it is been a useful and free tool for managing my finances.

Bucket budgeting is reportedly similar to YNAB. Many switched to that app when YNAB changed their subscription plan a time back.
Although I haven’t used it, there is a sub where you may ask YNAB members what they think.
It’s a very affordable one-time cost.
