I’ve noticed that since December, the dine-out restaurants I like have raised their prices. They were similar to fast food prices during the pandemic, but now it seems like everything has gone up. I’m curious if this is just happening in my area or if other places are seeing the same trend.
Yes, prices have definitely increased, and the service and food quality seem to be declining too. We rarely eat out anymore unless it’s a special occasion or we get a gift card. We budget $50 a month for dining out, but we’ve barely touched that this January. It’s mainly for my husband to have lunch with coworkers. Luckily, I enjoy cooking, but it’s wild how quickly those expenses can add up. Plus, we don’t have DoorDash, so there’s no temptation there.

I totally agree about tipping. It feels ridiculous now, so we don’t eat out much. Occasionally, I’ll take my kid to a bakery on the weekends, but that’s more like fast food.
Yeah, I feel like I can’t go out without spending at least $100-150 for two people.

I only use DoorDash now when they offer no delivery fees. It’s getting out of hand.
Yeah, we just don’t give them our business anymore.
It seems like prices have been rising for a year now. I’m glad I don’t enjoy eating out. Not drinking helps too since that can double your bill.
Every dish seems to be around $18-28 now. With an appetizer, it’s easily $60 for two people, not including tips or drinks. My boyfriend and I spent $80 at a pizza place a couple of weeks ago.
Yes, I rarely dine out anymore. There’s a small Peruvian place that keeps prices reasonable, but overall, I’m cooking 4-5 dinners a week for my partner and me.
