Are there any budgeting apps left that are one-time purchases

I’ve been wondering if there are any budgeting apps left that offer a one-time purchase instead of a subscription model. It seems like everything is shifting to monthly fees, and I find that a bit frustrating. Are there any options out there that still operate on a one-time payment basis?

Yes but they don’t do transaction tracking or require you to manually import the data. Even then they quickly become outdated as the source material changes format or security increases. If you don’t need transaction tracking then a simple Google Sheet does the trick.

Right, most of the apps are using Plaid or Finicity to pull the transactions. Which costs money on every pull. Are you looking for something manual? Which apps did you like?

The subscription model ruined everything :upside_down_face:

They are rare. It’s why I built Centsible. It’s envelope budgeting for mobile/tablet. One-time purchase if you only use it on one device. Let me know what you think.

It’s too expensive for me.

Not really a budgeting app, but for tracking debts, spending, and savings, I built r/DownPayApp for iPhone that offers a one-time fee and does not require a subscription. The downside with my approach is there is no backend server, which means it’s not possible to implement transaction sync with banks or Plaid, so my users are typically those who don’t mind manual entry.

Acrual Budget is a zero-time purchase. You host the server yourself.

PocketGuard still has a lifetime option. I’ve been using it for a little over a year, and it’s been working well enough.

Name your price :grinning:
