I’ve decided to start budgeting for the first time in my 37 years of life after realizing that we are, in my opinion, heavily indebted on credit cards. We were doing just well, so I never really felt the need to, but our financial situation has gotten much worse over the past few years, as I know it has for most other Americans. A budgeting program that provides clear visuals of what is coming in, what is going out, and what may be allocated for particular categories is what I would like to use.

I keep track of everything in a spreadsheet. I spend a few minutes each week reviewing the cards and recording all the details.

We’ve been using the free version of Goodbudget for around twelve years, and it works well for us.

Check out DAS Budget. It’s an app that both my fiancé and I absolutely love.

Although you have to put in a lot of work yourself, an excel sheet works the best. If buying premade ones is within your budget, you can acquire some on Etsy
