Hey guys, I’m planning my financial goals for 2025 and I realized I need to account for things that happen once a year that can throw off my monthly budget, like birthdays and holidays. My idea is to figure out a safe amount to save for each occasion. For example, if I want to have over $1,000 for Christmas shopping, I could set aside $50 from each paycheck starting now. Normally, I wouldn’t have that extra cash because I focus on paying off debts. What other annual expenses should I be prepared for that aren’t as obvious?
Don’t forget about birthdays! Also think about special holidays like Valentine’s Day.
You should consider expenses like car maintenance, home repairs, and pet care. Vacations can also add up quickly.
Event gifts are another big one—think weddings, baby showers, etc. Also, annual subscriptions like Amazon Prime or insurance might be cheaper if paid upfront.
Haircuts, vet bills, and oil changes are easy to overlook. Keep track of those annual fees!
License plate renewals and vehicle insurance are also important. It’s good to have a sinking fund for those types of expenses.
