What’s your favorite budget friendly snack options?

I’m going nuts that every week I buy bunch of organic fruits for the household mainly for my child. These fruits are not cheap and my child loves it and it’s almost the only thing she craves so they are for her. But guess what my husband eats them all as midnight snacks and they’re gone by morning. He likes sweets. So I baked him a pumpkin bread-gone in one day. Im on a budget and I maximize my shopping so I can provide delicious and healthy meals but I cannot keep up if my husband eats like this. And no, he won’t change anytime soon and no he hates “unhealthy sounding snacks” lol

Please tell me your recommended budget friendly somewhat healthy sweets?

Buy non-organic fruit; it’s not more nutritious. Adjust your budget if your husband needs more food.

Tell your husband to buy more fruit on the way home from work because he ate it all. He can solve the issues he creates.

Try sliced apples with cinnamon, hummus and pita, cheese and honey, or celery with peanut butter. Rotate snacks weekly or prep in advance for kid and dad.

Bananas are the cheapest fruit where I live. They are also satiating.

You also don’t need to buy organic bananas since you remove the peel to eat them. Conventional bananas are super cheap.

@PEY Add peanut butter and in a wrap is a snack or a meal.

Try frozen fruit for smoothies to satisfy his cravings. It’s surprising he’s eating the child’s fruit! You could also make peanut butter, oat, and mini chocolate chip balls for a filling, affordable snack. Substitute raisins or craisins if chocolate isn’t ideal, and add honey or maple syrup for extra sweetness if needed.

Quit buying organic or research which ones are “safe.” Buy frozen fruit and designate snacks for each.

Buy non-organic, in-season fruit. Prep veggies with dip, and make smaller batches of pumpkin or banana bread.

Vegan whey boosts satiety. Pair snacks, like fruit with nuts or yogurt with cake, to slow digestion.

@ZIMOHOO Food Combining. I love peanut butter on sliced apples, yogurt with granola and cheese slices and fruit.
