What do you wish you understood about money?

Hey everyone, I’m a CPA and really want to spread some reliable financial education that’s easy to understand. I’m looking to create some educational content on YouTube about money topics that could help fill in the gaps that school didn’t cover (but hey, at least we know the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell ). I see a lot of misinformation out there, and I think it’s important to get to the root cause of financial issues, which is often just a lack of knowledge. If you have a moment, please share some questions or topics you wish you knew more about when it comes to money. Any feedback would be super helpful, thanks!

Things I think would be good to cover: Time value of money—compound interest can be your best friend and worst enemy at the same time. Also, different types of budgets like zero-based, envelopes, proportional, etc. There’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to budgeting.

I think I do #9 if I understand what you mean. I have a spreadsheet tracking incoming and outgoing cash flows for checking and savings. It helps me predict my balance for future dates!

That sounds awesome! I need to get on that level. How do you set up your spreadsheet?

Great points! I can definitely cover tax strategies. What’s your experience with backdoor Roth IRAs?

I wish I understood more about credit scores and how to improve them. It seems so confusing sometimes.

Totally get that! Credit scores can be tricky. I’ll add that to my list of topics!

I’ve used a couple too. Some are good for tracking, but I think it depends on your needs.

Right? I just want something simple that works.
