I’m a developer working on a small project to improve expense tracking. I’d really love to hear your thoughts on what’s missing from current expense tracker apps. What features do you think would make them better? Let’s chat!
I wish they had a way to scan receipts automatically. Typing everything out is such a drag…

Right? And if they could recognize different items on the receipt too, that would be amazing!

What does OCR mean? I see it mentioned a lot.

Oh, it stands for Optical Character Recognition. Basically, it lets the app read text from images.
I think a feature to split expenses into different categories would be super useful. Like when I buy groceries and stuff at Walmart.

Totally! I end up with a big ‘shopping’ category and it’s so vague.

Yeah, it would help to see exactly where our money is going.
I’d love a monthly summary feature that lets me note why I went over budget. That would help with my spending habits.

Great idea! It’d make it easier to spot patterns in my spending.
More transparency about data collection would be nice too. Some apps are super vague about it.

For sure, it’s important to know how our info is being used.
What about integrating a feature to track non-monthly expenses? Like saving for a big purchase over time.

Yes! That would help a lot with planning for bigger expenses.
