So, I was checking out budgeting apps on the App Store, but all the highly recommended ones were subscription-based and kinda pricey, like Copilot and Every Dollar. I’m really after something secure and user-friendly for tracking my expenses without breaking the bank. Any suggestions for a free or reasonably priced budgeting tool with all the bells and whistles?
Check out “Microsoft Money Sunset Deluxe” on Google. It’s available for free download (not from the Microsoft Store). While there are no subscription fees, keep in mind there are also no updates or support available. It operates entirely on manual entry without the option to download from your financial institutions. However, if you’re diligent about inputting your transactions every day or two, it’s incredibly user-friendly. You can run reports, search for entries, and customize time intervals. I’ve personally been using MS Money for 19 years.
I’m currently using Quicken, which has a similar vibe to Copilot. If you’re looking for an alternative, you could give Empower a shot; it’s free but leans more towards the investment aspect. Another option is Moneyspire, which I believe costs around $50 per year.
Budgeting apps that are both free and moderately priced, like PocketGuard or Mint, provide good capabilities without requiring expensive memberships. They’re easy to use, safe, and perfect for keeping track of spending. If you’re looking for an affordable solution that satisfies your demands without breaking the bank, consider these possibilities.
