Hi all… I’ve been searching for a good solution, but I haven’t found much, so I’m hoping someone here can help. I’m looking for an app or some way to connect to my credit card and track my spending weekly. I know there’s an app called Weekly that looks pretty good, but it’s only available on iOS.
A bit of context: I get paid monthly and have a detailed budget to avoid running out of cash by the end of the month. I’ve been using separate savings accounts, kind of like the envelope method, to manage my spending. Lately, I’ve been using a rewards credit card for most of my purchases, but my provider doesn’t give me a way to track spending besides a basic transaction log and monthly statements. I usually budget to pay it off each month, but I often end up adding a bit to the balance. I really want to avoid that.
The budgeting apps I’ve tried only work on a monthly basis, and dividing my budget by four weeks just makes it too easy to overspend. Plus, there are times when we have five-week months, which throws everything off. I’m really just looking for a weekly solution that connects to my card and categorizes my transactions. Any ideas?
I haven’t seen many options specifically for weekly tracking either. Have you considered using a general budgeting app that allows you to set custom periods? Some of them might let you track your spending in a way that can mimic weekly tracking.
You could also look into using Google Sheets or Excel. It’s a bit manual, but you can create a weekly budget tracker that connects to your bank account. It might be more work, but at least you can customize it to fit your needs.
There are some apps like Mint or YNAB that might help, but I get what you mean about the weekly tracking. They usually default to monthly. Have you tried setting up your own weekly limits within those apps?
What about using a combination of apps? You could use one app for tracking your credit card transactions and another for budgeting. That way, you can keep an eye on spending weekly while staying on top of your overall budget.
I’ve heard of some newer apps designed for weekly tracking, but I can’t remember their names. Maybe check the Play Store for budgeting apps focused on weekly or daily spending.

I’ll definitely check that out. Thanks for the tip!
