We know the holidays might feel forever away, but we all know how fast they sneak up on us. Between juggling kids’ schedules, work, and everything else, holiday planning often gets pushed to the last minute. Luckily, there’s a better solution than swiping your credit card in December with a knot in your stomach—hoping to figure out how to pay it off after the new year.
The key lies in planning early. As moms, our strength helps us lean into preparedness and organization, right? So, let’s lend some of this to our finances as well. Here are some practical steps that can take you from being overwhelmed and uncertain about the upcoming holidays to being financially prepared.
This is so helpful! I’ve been stressing about holiday spending for a while now. I love the idea of setting up a sinking fund and saving little by little. It’s a lot less stressful than trying to figure out how to pay everything at once.
@Jamie
Yes! That’s exactly the point, small steps make a huge difference. Setting aside even a little bit each week can really add up and make the holidays way more enjoyable .
I started doing the early shopping trick last year and it made such a difference! Found some great deals in the summer that helped me save big on gifts. Highly recommend starting early.

I’ve always wondered if shopping early really helps. Do you find it hard to know what people will want by the time the holidays roll around?

I try to stick to general items like toys, clothes, or tech that people will likely use no matter what. Plus, I keep receipts just in case. So far, it’s worked out!
I’ve been wanting to earn a little extra money for the holidays but didn’t know where to start. Thanks for the tip about InboxDollars! I’ll check that out!

You’re welcome! InboxDollars is a super easy way to make some extra cash in your spare time. Hope it helps!
Thanks for mentioning the local gift programs. Times are tight for us this year, and I didn’t even think about looking into those options. Definitely going to start researching now.

Same here. I’ve used Toys for Tots in the past, and it really helped! The key is to sign up early, like the post says, because they fill up fast.
I needed to hear the part about keeping things simple and not feeling guilty. I always feel like I have to buy everything on my kids’ lists. This year I’m focusing on experiences instead.

That’s such a good idea! Kids love spending quality time together just as much as they love gifts. Creating memories can be just as valuable as material things .
