Need help budgeting for new full-time hours... any tips?

Hey everyone! This is my first post here, so I’m still figuring out how this all works. I just started working full-time after being part-time, and I need to adjust my budget. I’m trying to save for a car and pay off some loans, but IDK where to start. I’m looking at some budget books on Amazon, like this one: Amazon.com : Budget Planner - Monthly Budget Book with Expense Tracker Notebook, Undated Bill Organizer & Finance Planner to Take Control of Your Money, 2024-2025 Account Book to Manage Your Finances-Blue : Office Products or this one: Amazon.com: Weekly Budget Planner: A Year-Long Undated Spending Tracker: 9781441332868: Peter Pauper Press: Books. I usually track my expenses in notes, but I tend to misplace my notebooks. I’m also considering apps or websites for budgeting. I’ve checked out Ramsey’s EveryDollar but feel a bit lost. My biggest struggle is figuring out how much to save for my car and whether a regular savings account is worth it. Any advice would be super helpful!

Hey, congrats on the new job! I suggest trying a high-yield savings account for better interest.

Have you looked into YNAB? They have a free trial and tons of helpful videos online. It really helped me budget better!

Thanks for the tip! Is YNAB an app or just a website?

@ethan_johnson
It’s both! You can use it on your phone or on a computer. Super user-friendly.

You got this! I recommend checking out channels like The Money Guy Show for more budgeting tips.

Cool, I’ll definitely look into that. Thanks!

For car savings, even $50 a month is a good start. Just keep it consistent!

Tracking expenses can be tough. I tried using Habit Money and it made everything way easier. It sends reminders too!

Sounds helpful! Is Habit Money a mobile app?
