Looking for a budget app like Monarch that is more complete

Monarch has an absolutely killer feature that I really need - the ability to see the average expenditure for a category over the last 6 months and budget the average. That really helps for expense types that are infrequent but can be a lot when they happen, like car repairs.

Unfortunately, the categorization in Monarch is NOT good, and the rule system will assume that if two merchants have similar names they’re the same merchant and won’t let me use the exact names, which pretty much renders the app useless, and is honestly kind of embarrassing on something that costs $15 a month.

Is there an app that is closer to finished? I’ve been using RocketMoney and have gotten along with the premium version of that pretty well. It definitely has much better rule creation and categorization, but it doesn’t have that “over time forecasting” feature that I really need for a few of my expense categories.

I use copilot, does everything you post here. Also has a rollover feature for the budget categories you may find useful

@AVAH I’m a Windows user

I like copilot. I use the average month budgeting feature a lot. There’s a little setup involved to make sure you are rolling your budget correctly, but after that it!/ been super smooth for me.

Try switching the rule from merchant name to “original statement”

Costco gas was coding as groceries so I have a rule for Costco gas as Costco whse for groceries and it works so far

@JOSH I did, it immediately wiped it out.
