Is NerdWallet Good for Budgeting?

Hello,

Trynna save up for a house and get my budgeting under control. I’ve always felt like I’ve had a poor relationship with my finances. I need an app that really helps with budgeting because I’m not good at Excel. I recently downloaded NerdWallet, but I’m unsure if it’s what I’m looking for.

What apps do you use for budgeting? I’m mainly looking for something that helps me categorize my spending and lets me know how much money I have left in a pay period to spend, etc. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

A few years ago, I realized I needed to get my finances in order to save for a big trip. I wasn’t great with Excel either, so I started looking for budgeting apps. I tried a few different ones before landing on YNAB (You Need A Budget). It made a huge difference for me by allowing me to categorize my spending and set aside money for specific goals. The app’s feature of showing how much I had left to spend each pay period was particularly helpful in keeping me on track.

For your situation, I highly recommend YNAB. It’s user-friendly and great for categorizing expenses, tracking your spending, and helping you see exactly where your money is going. The app emphasizes giving every dollar a job, which can be very effective in managing your finances and saving for a house. It might be a bit of an adjustment at first, but it’s definitely worth it for the clarity and control it offers.

As soon as I realized there was no way to link my fidelity account to investments, I closed my account. However, everything else appeared to be sturdy.
