Is it possible to eat on $200 a month?

What meal plan could I create for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? Lunch needs to be something portable and cold since I won’t have access to a microwave while at work.

Someone else on Budgetingtalk claimed they eat on 200 a month. This is what they said they ate.

Breakfast - toast from homemade bread (.15) and an egg (.20). Tea (.25)

Lunch - salad greens (.50) grape tomatoes (.50) half a chicken breast (1.00). I get an enormous box of mixed greens from the warehouse club for 4.50.

Dinner - Homemade sausage white bean soup (1.00), wilted greens (.50), bread and butter (.15). Half a chocolate bar 1.25

Thats plenty of food and about $6.50 so you are under for the day. If you are better than me and can skip the chocolate, you are only at $5.25

$1 for chicken seems a little low in my opinion, but this is what they claim for $6.50 per day. 200 per months seems impossible for me. But maybe if I had to, I could.

appears to be around 1200 calories. Not enough for most women, but maybe enough for a small woman. For more high-calorie and modestly protein foods, consider switching from chocolate to peanut butter.

Yeah. That’s what I was thinking. I was guessing it was a woman.

Im so glad I can afford more than 200 on food.

With that said, I spend too much on food and wish I spent less. I could if I really tried. But not 200.

I am a small woman, and this is really too little food for me to survive on. This amount of food might be acceptable if you’re not a particularly active person and/or don’t work in a profession that requires constant mental focus, but you would still probably be classified as malnourished.

We have no idea how many calories it is since we don’t have quantities
