How much money should I have leftover each month after all bills are paid?

Hey there, im trying to figure out how much I can afford to pay in rent so I want to know how much left over money I need for gas, groceries, social activities, etc. For context, I am moving to Philadelphia

If you don’t tell us your income, your rent plus other expenses, how could anyone provide you with a logical number.

How much do you currently spend on gas, groceries, social activities, and anything else? Philadelphia is a MCOL area so while it’s no NY or SF, it’s not cheap either.

My general rule of thumb is that you should make at least double your monthly expenses, particularly your rent.
