My husband is always complaining saying we spend too much on groceries (which I’m including things like toilet paper or household items you can buy at the grocery store), but I feel like we spend much less than the average American family of 3. It’s me, my husband, and our 5 year old son. We spend like $500/month at Costco, and about $100-$150 every 2 weeks at Walmart, so under $1000 a month. Is this high? Low?
I’d say thats a touch high, but not unreasonably high by any means.
$1500-2000: two adults in 50s and one 19 year old eating machine called a son.
Same situation i spend around $2000 a month with an 18 yr old son and a 11 yr old son.
So $70 in groceries per day?? What the hell are you eating??
Our 2-year-old loves fruit, and we enjoy steaks and salmon. Groceries and dining out: ~$2800/mo.
2 adults in Atlanta; we spend ~$500-$550 a month on groceries and cap the household needs at $80/mo
We budget $550 for groceries and $150 for non-food items like soap and meds. We rarely hit the $150, and the $550 varies based on Costco stock-ups. We’re a household of 2 adults, so this works well for us.
