I’m curious about what others are paying since prices seem to be going up every day.
I guess I spend $150 to $200 a week on groceries for my three-person family. We go out to dine maybe once a week.
Every evening that we do not eat out, I make supper. Once a week, we often “fend for yourselves,” which is actually just us consuming the leftovers from the previous week.
This may seem embarrassing to many on this site, but as a family of three living in the Seattle area, we spend between $250 and $275 a week, or slightly over $1k, on groceries (including dog food) per month. I make most of our meals from scratch, so we seldom ever eat out. However, we do eat a lot of meat, and I try to buy organic veggies whenever I can.
North-west US food is strangely pricey! For as long as I can recall, it has been.
I bought groceries alone for one person every week for about $100. I have an autoimmune disease, therefore nothing too elaborate, pre-made, or highly processed. When the teen returns from college, the monthly payment nearly doubles to $400–$800.
