I’m curious about how much you budget for groceries in the Greater Toronto Area. By groceries, I mean food, drinks, and household items like toilet paper and laundry detergent. What’s your monthly spend like? Also, any tips you have for saving on groceries apart from buying in bulk or using Flipp to find deals would be awesome.
I budget around $300-500 a month for groceries. It really depends on how many larger purchases I make. I usually do bulk meat buys and vacuum seal them for easy cooking later.

That’s smart! I’ve heard vacuum sealing can really help with food preservation.

Yeah, I do that too! It makes meal prep so much easier.
I spend about $400 a month, including household stuff. Meal planning helps a lot in reducing waste and costs.

Meal planning is key! Do you have a specific system you follow?

Same here! I plan out my meals for the week and it saves me time and money.
I try to keep it under $350. I also look for clearance items and use coupons whenever I can.

Coupons are great! I also check for apps that give cash back on grocery purchases.

I should start doing that. I always forget about using coupons at the store!
I’ve been budgeting around $450. I also try to shop at local markets for better deals on fresh produce.

Local markets can be a game changer! Fresh produce is usually way better too.

Absolutely! Plus, supporting local businesses feels good.
Not sure how it translates to GTA, but in my area, budgeting $500 works well. Lol, and if only GTA had a DLC for grocery shopping… I’d pay for that!

LOL, I’d buy that too! Every car you hijack says ‘SORE-RY’
