Grocery budgeting?

Hey! We are a family of 2 adult one infant. One household earner. How much would be a reasonable budget for us for groceries/food? We don’t eat out at all.

So we’re a family of 4 with a 3 and 6 year old, single income, and we only eat out once a month. I budget our grocery order for under $200 a week! So around $800 a month. I’d say yall could probably do less than $150 or $130 a week. I use Kroger pickup so I can always make sure I get everything we need, but don’t accidentally go over. When you shop in person, it’s embarrassing to have to remove stuff once you’ve brought it to the counter, so by adding everything you want to an online order then seeing the price, you can delete what you decide isn’t as essential without any extra stress or temptation from things in the aisles. It’s worked for us for years! Hope that helps

Great advice! You can still use their cart as a shopping list if you want to pick your own stuff!

We’re 2 adults, rarely eat out, and brew coffee at home. Our weekly spend averages $100 with some lower weeks at $30-50 for basics. We keep costs low by rotating affordable meals like rotisserie chicken, omelets, pancakes, and leftovers, and occasionally get a $20 pizza.

It’s location dependent. Left overs for lunch, how old is the baby?

the baby is 5 months old

My husband and I have a 2-year-old and a 3-month-old. We budget $550/month for groceries, with eating out in a separate category (we rarely do), and $200/month for our 3-month-old’s formula.

My 3 month old is also on formula. How much do you budget for your 2 year olds nutritional expenses?

It really is pricey! Aldi is a great choice for saving money. Chicken nuggets are a kid favorite!

Costco formula is a smart choice! Food costs can add up quickly, especially with little ones.
