I’m in search of a dependable monthly spending tracker app and stumbled upon the Google Monthly Spending Tracker. Has anyone here tried it? I’d appreciate hearing your thoughts before I test it out. How’s the user interface? Does it provide detailed insights into spending habits? Are there any drawbacks or limitations I should know about? TIA

Yeah, Sheets handles all the backend stuff, plus it gives me a cool Dashboard. Forms makes it super easy to fill in expenses on my phone. I’ve got it set as a shortcut on my home screen, so way easier than opening a spreadsheet.

Pros:

  • Customizable AF (add your own categories and sheets)
  • Can use it like a diary sometimes (I put in notes as zero-cost entries)
  • Pretty secure (data stays in your Google Drive)
  • Filling out expenses via Form on my phone is a breeze

Cons:

  • Takes time to set up your own system
  • Filling out a form for every expense can be a drag, especially for regular stuff
  • Apps that auto-track expenses are way more convenient
