Hey Fam!
Between these two, which one would you recommend?
My wife and I used Financial Pace University years ago, which helped us get on track with managing our money. Now, except for our mortgage, we have no debt.
We’ve been using a spreadsheet based on Dave Ramsey and YNAB’s zero-based budgeting system, but it’s not getting used regularly. I’d like an app we can both access on our phones. We’re considering two options and leaning towards EveryDollar for its free option. I don’t think we need to connect our bank accounts, but if we do decide to pay, EveryDollar is still cheaper.
What do you think?
hi fam, digest this, the optimal app is the one that you will consistently use. Experiment with the free trial of YNAB or the free edition of EveryDollar to determine which one is more intuitive and user-friendly for your needs.
After thoroughly researching EveryDollar and YNAB, two popular budgeting apps, I’ve found that they each have their own strengths and cater to different budgeting philosophies. EveryDollar is based on the principles of financial expert Dave Ramsey, emphasizing a structured, zero-based approach where every dollar is assigned a specific purpose. It requires manual expense tracking, which can promote financial discipline but may be less convenient. In contrast, YNAB offers real-time, automatic transaction syncing for a more seamless budgeting experience, along with a flexible, zero-based budgeting method. YNAB also provides extensive educational resources to help users improve their financial knowledge. While EveryDollar has a free version, YNAB operates on a subscription model. Ultimately, the choice between the two will depend on my budgeting preferences, need for automation, and willingness to invest in a budgeting tool.
