I’m looking for a good budget template in Excel that not only covers income and expenses but also includes space for investments and savings. Ideally, I want to track what’s left over each month so I can allocate it towards investing and saving. If anyone has a template they’d be willing to share, or if you know of any free digital apps that can do this, let me know. I prefer Excel, but I’m open to trying new things!
I have an Excel sheet I use that has rows for categories and columns for each month. I also included sections at the bottom for savings and investments. It tracks contributions, withdrawals, and interest for savings, which you could tweak to track investments too. Happy to share it with you!

Yes, that would be great! Could you send it to me via message?

Sure, I’ll try to message it to you. Can I send Excel sheets in Reddit chats though?
In my sheet, I just treat savings and investments as transfers. They’re not really expenses, so I track them separately.
I use a Google Sheet that tracks my budget and includes savings and investments. I can send it over if you’re interested.

Yes, please! Could you message it to me?
You could always just add those categories to your current Excel sheet. But if you’re looking for something pre-made, the Australian government’s budget planner has a savings category already. You can easily customize it to track investments as well.
@Finn
I like this planner a lot! I just wish it had a dedicated investments section. And yeah, I’m not great with Excel so adding things manually intimidates me a bit.
