Budgeting for misc

So I have really been trying to crack down on my budget and just can’t seem to close all the holes. How do other people budget misc stuff like, (tail light went out, need new socks, etc.)? Yes, it’s only a few bucks here and there, but after a whole month, it ends up being $100-200. I am wondering how I can adjust my budget to accommodate for these things so I’m not always over, but I also don’t want a million parts to my budget if that makes sense.

I usually set aside a small ‘miscellaneous’ category in my budget. It helps cover those unexpected expenses without having to track every little thing. Maybe allocate $20-30 a month for this category?

I totally get it! I have a ‘buffer’ in my budget where I add a little extra to my overall spending limit each month. It helps absorb those small expenses that pop up.

That sounds like a solid plan. How much do you usually add for the buffer?

What I do is keep a running list of unplanned expenses and review it at the end of each month. It gives me a clearer picture of what I need to budget for next month.

I prefer to have a fixed amount for ‘unexpected expenses’ each month. It doesn’t need to be a lot, just enough to cover those little surprises.

Thanks for the suggestions! I think having a fixed amount for unexpected expenses might be the way to go.
