My husband and I are looking for a budgeting app that tracks our expenses and income from our bank account and categorizes them. Also, we use credit cards for most of our transactions, so we would like to scan our receipts and have the app verify the correct amount is taken from our credit cards. Right now, we do all of this manually in a monthly budget Google spreadsheet, but find it very tiring, especially if we fall behind by several months. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
I use YNAB and absolutely love it. I set up my monthly budget and link both my debit and credit accounts and just categorize the transactions as they are processed. It has really helped me with my savings journey. The only downside is that it’s a little pricey; I think it’s around £80 a year.
It is good.
It just doesn’t scan receipts. I really wish it did that because it would be a fantastic feature.
Actual Budget is a great alternative to YNAB if you want something cheaper.
Heron does most of what you’re looking for, with the exception of receipt scanning. You might want to check it out at https://heron.money/. Disclaimer: I wrote it, but I really think you’ll like it. Let me know if you have any questions, I respond pretty quickly.
I’ve downloaded Monarch, and it’s $100 for a year, but it doesn’t do the receipts thing because that seems excessive.
Quicken Simplifi is great for real-time transactions.
My wife and I used Monarch for a bit and it’s pretty solid.
Monarch app is currently offering 50% off right now as a new user.
