I’m looking for the best overall financial app (not really sure what to call what I’m looking for). I want something that will track expenses across all of my accounts (can be automatic or manual, I don’t mind data entry). It would also be nice to track my stocks, IRA contributions, tax savings account, and sinking savings funds. An added bonus would be if it shows net worth. I don’t mind paying a fee if all of my boxes are checked. Ideally, it would be iOS compatible on iPhone and Mac and aesthetically pleasing but not too complicated. Does this exist?
Have you looked at Monarch Money? It’s a bit pricey for my liking, but it should check all your boxes. I have a couple of gripes about the connections needing to be reset frequently, but it tracks transactions, budgets, bills, goals (this is where I watch my sinking fund), net worth, and some investments. If you use a referral code, you can get an extended free trial—happy to share if you are interested.
You might want to check out YNAB (You Need A Budget). It’s great for expense tracking and budgeting, and it works well for long-term financial goals. It also has a solid community for support.
Consider Personal Capital. It offers comprehensive tools for tracking expenses and investments, including net worth calculation. It’s free and has a user-friendly interface.
Try Mint. It’s free, tracks expenses, and shows your net worth. You can also add investment accounts, but it may not be as comprehensive as other paid options.
If you’re willing to pay, Tiller Money might be a good fit. It’s a spreadsheet-based service that integrates with your bank and investment accounts, giving you full control over your data.
