Best budgeting app for a complete newbie?

I am 42 years old and have severe money anxiety. I genuinely do not keep track of my personal finances because of that anxiety. I practically simply pray for the best and check my bank account balance a week before rent is due. Though there have been a few near misses, I have been okay in my adult life and managed to pay my rent. In so many other facets of my life, I practice mindfulness. But only not in terms of finances, tracking, and budgeting. I am aware that my current approach to things is incredibly reckless.

By 2024, I want to have overcome my fear of money and start budgeting, keeping track of my expenses, being more conscious of my spending, and generally becoming more financially responsible.

Which budgeting app would you suggest for a new user? And any additional advice?

Many thanks ahead of time

I’ve had ynab for a long time. Maybe seek expert assistance if you have a money fear.

Mint is a great pick. It helps track where your money goes without making it complicated. It categorizes your spending automatically, so you can see what you’re really splurging on and set simple budgets to stay on track. Plus, it sends reminders for bills and helps plan ahead for expenses. It’s like having a handy tool to ease into managing your finances without the stress.
